The Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo (ADSFR) is officially recognized by The Guinness Book as the world`s largest fishing tournament. Founded in 1929, this July marks the 86th annual ADSFR, an event that typically attracts over 3,500 anglers and more than 75,000 spectators. In my opinion, what-s truly unique about this tournament is it`s breadth (over 30 categories) and the fact that the jackpot winner is chosen at random from all entrants; in other words, an angler who enters a speckled trout is as likely to win the 22` Contender boat, motor, and trailer as an angler who lands the largest yellowfin tuna. It`s pretty remarkable.
